Mū people, according to some sources, are not the Menehune.
In other circles, there is a vehement denial of the pacific land mass known as Lemuria being the origins of our Hawaiian people or the people of Molokai. So then, who are the Mū? One source says that the Mū people came from Kānehūnāmoku to Kauai and that they were tricked into staying there by the chief Kalaulehua. They adapted and stayed for so long that they forgot the skill of reading the very stars which could lead them back home to their fabled homeland. In recent times I have heard scholars call the Mū the silent ones or the ones without voices, for that, is one of the meanings of the word Mū. The question has also been asked as to whether there are descendants of the Mū living among us today. There may be valid proof of this question in a department store on the west side.
