The mother and son were crossing the street toward's the basketball court between Gulick and Bannister Street in Kalihi.

They noticed four boys who were between 12 and 13 years old. They all had the same haircuts and were wearing the same baseball uniforms. One was bent over with his hands on his knees. His friends stood around him, making sure he was okay. He nodded his head that he was fine, his three friends had baseball bats, and they began to beat him mercilessly. He screamed and put his hands up, trying to protect himself. Soon, his white baseball uniform became soaked with blood. The mother and son suddenly realized that they could see the horrific beating right in front of them, but they couldn't hear it. The bloodied, beaten boy broke away from the group and ran toward the mother and son, mouthing the words, "Help! "Help!" His assailants chased after him, right before he reached the mother and son, he vanished. With their friends' blood and brain matter all over their white uniforms, the three other boys disappeared a second later, leaving the mother and son broken and horrified. In the '70s there was a junior baseball league comprised of the various ethnicities in that area, the racial tension was at an all-time high. After a game where the home team suffered a humiliating loss, the four standouts walked home to the backstreet apartments where they live. Secretly, the three local boys blamed the new boy fresh from the Philippines for their loss and so they meted out their own justice. The victim and the murderers are long gone but are still connected by the brutal murder which made an indelible impression upon the place where it happened. In other words, it's haunted.
